monday inspiration.

{500} days of summer.

i promise y'all... i am not going to base all of my blog posts from now off of movie titles. this is the second in the past week and i apologize for that, but i just couldn't help it. i stayed in last friday night... snuggled up in bed next to some sleepy time tea, my lit candle, and 500 days of summer playing on my computer. i had a bit of a rough day and just wanted a good heartwarming flick. some of you may be telling me right about now that my movie choice wasn't exactly that. and while i agree, i think there is so much truth in the plot line. and while i felt tom's heartbreak, i also understood summer's uncertainty in love...

there are so many relatable & inspiring quotes in this movie. i will share a few of my personal fav's with y'all...

*there's no such thing as love, it's fantasy...
good point, summer. definitely something to ponder... is love too good to be true? do we all just hope for something that is only existent in fantasyland?

*people change, feelings change. it doesn't mean that the love once shared wasn't true and real. it sometimes just means when people grow, they grow apart.
sometimes in order to truly grow up and take positive steps in life, you need to grow out of things/people/places. you need to let things go that are hindering your potential. it can be hard and sucky, but in order to fulfill oneself, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

*some people are meant to fall in love... but not meant to be together.
straight ^.

*a guy and a girl can just be friends. but at one point or another, they will fall for each other... maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late, or maybe forever.
what are your takes on this? do you think that all girl & guy friendships have to end with one falling for the other? can a guy and girl ever just be friends with no romantic feelings involved? WHATCHUTHINK?

  1. omg omg omg this movie is... i can't even explain! i watched it pretty much by mistake, i heard of it but never got myself to actually watch it... and when i did it just changed my view about relationships!! i still dont know if i'm a summer or a tom, i just know i love the smiths. <3

ps: the true golden quote and perfect summary for the movie is when rachel says "just because she likes the same bizzarro crap as you do it doesn't mean you're soulmates"

    ^familiar title? ;)
