coachella crushes.

It is almost that time of the year. LA'erz are starting to chat it up about the number one music festival in Southern California, the one that sells out in a matter of fifteen minutos. I mean a girl can dream, right? Unfortch, I don't really have the $$$ to buy a ticket on Craigslist that is the equivalent to a month of rent, but I'm still wishin' I can sneak a peak at the fab fashionistas that are inside the festival (forget the tunes, am I right?) In the past, a few of my fav looks go to Alessandra Ambrosio & my girl, Karlie Kloss. Their Victoria Secret model faces and bods probably don't hurt their casual chic looks either. Another fav is Rosie Huntington-Whitely looking stunning in her white button-up gone bad, but when doesn't that chick look like a ten? Coachella style is all about perfecting the "it took me 5 minutes to get dressed" look, when in reality, it took their stylist a few weeks to crown the correct combo of cut-offs & booties. Because I mean according to good ol' Dolly P, it does cost a lot of money to look this cheap.

{Just throwing this out there, I already have an outfit in mind if anyone happens to have a ticket to spare.....just sayin'}

in love with the insta

According to my friends & my roommate, a phrase that comes out of my mouth a little too often is "i saw it on insta!" {or pinterest}. I get a lot of my inspiration on social media outlets and it is also serves as a creative outlet for myself. Today, I am showing you my favorite instagram accounts to follow, these chicks rule. I think I have one too many girl crushes & need to pump the breaks here very soon....

dare ya to detox.

Who needs to spend hundreds of george washington's to detox your bod, when you can make sassy water right in your own kitchen! There are many health benefits of drinking lemon water....boosting your immune system & helping with weight loss, flushing out yuckies such as the late night In N Out that you are trying to block from your memory, and it even decreases wrinkles so you can save your moolah on the botox bills. I decided to add cucumber and mint to spice things up a little bit, and to make the water more refreshing. This is the perfect drink for the early a.m. wake up calls, and eventually I would love to replace my morning coffee with this wa-wa. But let's take one step at a time.
What ya need: {1 lemon, 1 cucumber, mint leaves, h20, & a cup/mason jar}

Cut three slices of the cucumb.
Drop those puppies into a cup {or mason jar} of water.
Cut four half slices of lemon.
Y'all with me?
Pick as much mint as your little heart desires, depending on how much you like that minty fresh taste. I used one "branch." Rub the mint in between your hands to bruise the leaves before dropping in the jar.
This is simply just a shot of my roommate slash photographer thinking he is artsy.  Let's all make him feel special.
Cap her up.
Refrigerate those bad boys. You can make as many as you want, if you want to prepare for the whole week or just for the next day. Just make sure they soak overnight {or for at least 8 hours}.

*You can strain the water in the morning if you want to get rid of those silly mint leaves. Drink this magical mixture in the morning and it will serve as a natural energizer, leaving you so hydrated & refreshed! Not only is it a yummy drink, word on the street it helps you lose the lbs around your midsection. Woohoo, the only time I want an inner tube is when I'm heading to the beach, thank ya.

tiny trendsetters.

"playing dress-up starts at age five and never truly ends." -kate spade

I think I am so into children's fashion because I am somewhat trying to live vicariously through these kutie kids. I thought the Old Navy american flag tee was fashionable, so that gives you an idea of what I was rocking as a little peanut. Growing up in the public eye and being stalked by paparazzi must be hard for these little nuggets, so at least they gotta look good! The mini-models all have incredible genes + unlimited dollas so seriously go them. While I have a fascination with all babes, these are the celeb cuties I would easily trade wardrobes....& yes I would have to drop a few lbs before doing so.

Mini fashionista, Harper Beckham is already practicing walking the catwalk.  Obviously learning to twerk from her smokeshow of parentals, she was literally running (around) the show at VB's show @ New York Fashion Week. No doubt we will see this girl on the cover of Vogue in 2030.
Haters gonna hate, but Suri Cruise has got it goin' on.  Every outfit she wears makes me wish I could fit into crewcuts. She is totally the Blair Waldorf of the first grade. This chick has blogs on blogs about her style, even after her mom, Katie Holmes ditched Suri's designer wardrobe in hopes of making her more normal. Girl, your parents are TomKat, own it sister.
Some of these kiddos get it from their mama's, but Harper & Grace Burtka-Harris get it from their papas. This darling duo follows the footsteps of their dashing daddies, and take the cake for being the most trendy twins around. Their baby beauty is expressed through their style&grace (and harper).
How could you not be a dapper diva when your mother is one of the most sassy stylists, Rachel Zoe? Skyler Berman has to love fashion whether he wants to or not. His signature look is the beanie, which he rocked at NYFW....what a hipster in the making.
And the winner in my heart is obviously Mason Disick. Not to sound creepy, but this little dude is more attractive than many men I have met that are my age. He has the perfect combination of swag (like his Uncle Rob) + prep from his father, Lord Disick. Call me when you're 18, Mas.

hype up your hair.

Embrace messy hair.

Do you ever get the feeling that you want to just cut off someone's hair and put it on your head? Yeah, me too. It's totes normal. I can't look at pictures of Lauren Conrad, the Olsen twins, or any pinterest princess with luscious locks without getting serious hair envy. I believe that your mane says a lot about yourself, and it is worth the slightly high cost of the hair products that help you define the 'do.
I have tested the waters when it comes to different styling products, & I made a list of my top five. Most of these are friendly to all hair types and can be found while splurgin' at sephora.

Moroccan Oil has been my partner in crime for over a year now. This is the only product of the five that I put in my hair every single day. It leaves your hair with a silky finish and has helped with my split ends. Also it always makes sure to leave my hair shinin' bright like a diamond.
I have never really been a hairspray kinda girl, but once I started using Bumble & Bumble's Thickening Hairspray, that quickly changed. It holds my waves in place without the crunchy feel, while adding volume without the bump it look.
I gave up straightening my hair this year and have gotten super tight with Bumble & Bumble's Surf Spray. I can now leave my apartment with wet hair after a few sprays of this guy. It gives my hair the "I just walked out of the ocean" kinda look and helps me out on days I am running late.
Not only is the drybar the best place on earth, but their new lines of products are the bomb. Everyone needs a good bottle of dry shampoo for the days you don't have time to shower, or are too hungover to do so.
I think I worship Josie Maran. She has got it going on. Her Argan Hair Mist is the perfect way to get your hair looking like a Free People model. Not to mention, her Argan Oil is the best moisturizer. Instead of using heat on your hair, squirt the Maran mist.
always keep your head up, your bikini on, and your hair as salty and wavy as possible. xx

cheetah girls, cheetah sistas.

As far as I'm concerned, leopard is a neutral. -Jenna Lyons, J.Crew president

A girl can never own too much leopard print. I doubt others agree with that statement when I am accidentally rocking my leopard iphone case, along with a leopard scarf, and matching wallet. On those particularly embarrassing days, I hear the phrases "oh my god, you are matching!" or "did you plan that?" a few too many times than I would like to admit. There is just something about that ferocious little friend that I can't get enough of. I love the fact that this animal print can speak volumes without even saying a word. It gives off a sassy yet sophisticated feel and I continuously cross my fingers that the cheetah craze never goes out of style. Here are a few of my favorite lovely leopard looks:

free people leopard fonda swimsuit
sam edelman alvin flat in nude leopard

ralph lauren leopard-print sheets
free people printed wideband in cheetah print
equipment ava henley blouse in natural leopard
wildfox leopard spots hippie tee
jcrew iphone case in leopard
anthropologie leopard-dappled duffle
furbish pink leopard lumbar
claire vivier haircalf wallet clutch

spice ^ your life with a pop of print. xx
