Not only is it Friday... but we also have a long weekend ahead of us! I have always loved Memorial Day since I was a little squirt. It reminds me of the neighborhood pools opening for the summer, red/white/blue combos, and most importantly, BBQ's. Now that I am more of a "grown-up," Memorial Day is also another excuse for the most wonderful sales of the season. And the day off...to hit up those hot spots!
Here are some darling deals for the holiday weekend...

park it at the parker.
Palm Springs, California. Home of desert divas, coachella cuties, and the only & only, Le Parker Meridien. Hands down, this is the most magical hotel I have ever been to. I seriously felt as if I was in a different world :: a world of fresh flowers, Jonathan Adler decor, limitless lemonade, Hermes soap, smoky smores bars, & hidden paths to private pools. Seriously, what else does a girl need? I am already planning my next summer getaway to The Parker - but next time, I am never coming back.

get a clue.
Welcome to the Sunset Strip.
Last night, I made my first appearance at the House of Blues. Some girlfriends and I got tickets to see my favorite eye candy, Cal Shapiro of Timeflies, and his sidekick Rob Resnick. So while I was super excited to see these two hunks, little did I know...the venue was going to be my main squeeze of the night. When inside the House of Blues, you literally feel as if you are playing real life Clue. There are secret staircases that lead you into rooms of lounges and velvet, an overall rustic yet comfortably creepy feel throughout the building, and men&women in the Foundation Room who could have fooled me for being Professor Plum or Miss Scarlet. Everywhere you look, you can find yourself occupied and distracted by something new. I never knew that beat up looking hotspot on Sunset could be filled with so much mystery!
As much as I worship Timeflies, I can't wait for the House of Blues to host a band that doesn't attract the teenyboppers next time.

weekend wishes.
Happy Friday! Are y'all looking for plans for this wonderful weekend? Well you have come to the right place. The future forecast is looking bright & sunny in LA, so make sure to pack those ray bans where ever you travel to these next hot few days! (Sorry to all my friends in different parts of the country/world, wish you could spend my birthday weekend with me in LaLaLand!) Here are some ideas for ya.
*Go on a hike! Get up early Saturday morning, drag your roommate or pup out of bed, and travel the trails of your choice. Whether it is Runyon Canyon, Fryman Canyon, or the good ol' Hollywood Hike, make sure to stay hydrated and keep those eyes protected. The earlier, the better, since it is supposed to reach 83 in certain parts of Los Angeles.
**Stop by the Etsy Pop-Up at West Elm Saturday afternoon. Are you guys as big of Etsy lovers as I am? I can't seem to drop by the site without wanting everything humanly possible and more. Whether it is a painted canvas I do not need for my room, or something monogramed to add to the collection, my heart is so so full when I am on the website. Since it is hosted by stylist Emily Henderson, we know it's gotta be good. Check out the participating Etsy sellers here: http://blog.westelm.com/2013/02/06/etsy-pop-up-at-west-elm-los-angeles-curated-by-emily-henderson/

***Hit up the Melrose Trading Post on Sunday for trinkets galore. Located at the Fairfax High School on Melrose, this flea market is not messin' around. Their vendors carry anything from refurbished wooden furniture, old vinyls, vintage clothing, bomb jewelry, and anything in between. It is also a golden place to people watch/celeb stalk while you're at it. You will find anyone from the girls from Pretty Little Liars, to the homeless men who reside on the outdoor picnic tables nearby. Remember to bring $2 to enter, and most venders are cash only so make a trip to an ATM beforehand.
