time to bash

color coded bookshelves

Happy Friday everyone!

Ashley here from Time to Bash :)

I came across Carolina Herrera's atelier and studio last week on Vogue's website. It's in Midtown Manhattan & is so incredibly chic yet undeniably "New York." One of my favorites things about her studio is the color coded bookshelf.

holla for the holidays.

Not only is it Friday... but we also have a long weekend ahead of us! I have always loved Memorial Day since I was a little squirt. It reminds me of the neighborhood pools opening for the summer, red/white/blue combos, and most importantly, BBQ's. Now that I am more of a "grown-up," Memorial Day is also another excuse for the most wonderful sales of the season. And the day off...to hit up those hot spots!

Here are some darling deals for the holiday weekend...

desk du jour.

While I was working yesterday from my office space, I got quickly distracted and wrapped up in a day dream. I looked around and realized I loved every desk detail around me. My boss, Jen, has the most "effortlessly chic" style...hence the blog name. We usually work from her dining room table // the perfect amount of natural light, enough space for our laptops & DIY projects, and most importantly, simple yet elegant surroundings. While she has a home office as well, this spot is where it's at.

My mind began to wander...what do I want my organized chaos office to look like down the road...?

a mug masterpiece.

I am very happy to announce some great news! I am now working as the editorial assistant for The Effortless Chic. I first met Jen Pinkston, the creator of the site, while I was interning for The Bethenny Show last summer. She is a wardrobe stylist, blogger, wife, and of course, an absolute rockstar. I am so excited to start this new adventure in LA.

We are working out of her adorable home in the Valley Village/Studio City area. Look at her classy & chic office / home that was featured on Camille Styles' blog here.

Last week, we shot our first DIY project together. We wanted to do a post about florals (since we are both obsessed with having fresh flowers whenever we can) and decided to put a creative twist on it. The mugs serve as vases, while the flowers are a handmade arrangement from the Los Angeles Flower Mart, located in downtown LA. It was my first time exploring that neck of the woods + my first trip to Wurstkuche :)

Check out our finished product on the blog! It is perfect for a bridal party, any kind of celebration, or just as a pretty pop of color in your home! You can spell out any word your little heart desires, or keep it simple with your initial by your bedside table.

Anthropologie + Fresh Flowers = two of my favorite things. What word would you spell out? xx

weekend wishes.

Happy Friday! What do you guys have on the agenda for the weekend? I have a lot of exciting plans this weekend that I will share with you next week on the blog. I will give you all a hint....two of my favorite things are on the calendar, coffee & flea markets. But in order to attend all of the fun events this weekend, I first have a couple errands on my to-do list... Shopping! Here are a few things that are on my wish list at the moment. Pink & gold seem to be the trend on this version of weekend wishes.

Many of the items I am craving are things that make a perfect, relaxing weekend - including a coconut macaroon (my favorite!) candle, a memoir to cuddle up with, and a comfy but cute pair of lulu pants to lounge around in. The starry string lights would be the perfect touch to a headboard, turning your room into a whimsical wonderland.

Enjoy your beautiful time off this weekend and make sure to have plenty of "me" time xx.

Rooms I Fancy :: Cozy Chic

I have found that recently I have been getting crushes on....rooms. Certain decor and the vibe a space gives off makes me never want to leave. One of my first attachments to a room was when I walked into Alex Malloy's living room. Talk about the perfect mixing of prints, chic art, girly and feminine touches, yet it is totally inviting and cozy at the same time. It is important to make a house feel like a home, while always remaining super stylish and trendy. Sometimes I am scared to mix prints because I worry about clashing, but the variety in Alex's Venice bungalow reassures me that if you incorporate different patterns and colors correctly, the result can be completely flawless and fashionable.

& don't forget to say hi to cooper on the couch! xx

park it at the parker.

Palm Springs, California. Home of desert divas, coachella cuties, and the only & only, Le Parker Meridien. Hands down, this is the most magical hotel I have ever been to. I seriously felt as if I was in a different world :: a world of fresh flowers, Jonathan Adler decor, limitless lemonade, Hermes soap, smoky smores bars, & hidden paths to private pools. Seriously, what else does a girl need? I am already planning my next summer getaway to The Parker - but next time, I am never coming back.

welcome to heaven.

wall ART wishin'

Happy Friday! This weekend I am working on spicin' up my apartment a bit {yes, maybe this has to do with the fact that my roommate is leaving for Florida & i get to go girly without his approval!} But, all this decorating has really got me thinking about how much wall art/decor makes your apartment YOU. It is another way to express yourself & incorporate your sense of style. I made (quite a large) wish list of pieces of art that I would love to have one day, if I ever have a house big enough to fit them all...keep dreamin' girl. But first, check out a few of my favs from my pad:
  • Not All Who Wander All Lost - I picked this print up from Urban Outfitters and framed it for my living room. This is one of my all time favorite quotes that serves as a great reminder every day.
  • Don't you just LOVE the gold wings!? My friend Shellie works at a stellar shop, The White Rabbit in St. Louis & got me these wonderful wings for my birthday. They come in two different sizes (I have the small) and I am waiting for my apartment miracle man, Jose, to help me hang them above my bed. Perfect for all Pi Phi's :) The two prints are going to go on either side of the wings and are simply framed Paper Source prints!
  • I have been searching all over LA for this Fleetwood Mac record & my amazing friend, Ali surprised me with this framed gem for my birthday. I need to find the perfect spot in my apartment to show that baby off.

my way long wish list:

Blogs & Coffee - $25
Coney Island Beach - $19
Love Candy - $35
Brittle Stars - $45
Elephant - $85
Cheer Up In Pink - $45

fascinated w/ furbish.

Road trip to Raleigh, anyone? Glitter Guide featured the amazing Furbish Studio on the blog so I had to check them out. Little did I know, I was going to fall head over heels in love. The Furbish Studio blog, I Suwannee (http://www.isuwannee.com) is true inspiration for any lover of pretty things. This is definitely going to be an addition to my bookmarks bar. Their instagram is also to die for, follow them @furbishstudio. If I didn't live with a guy, I would absolutely have to decorate my apartment to mock their studio. And to save the best for last, most of their items are actually affordable! Way to brighten up my Monday :)
