time to bash: tea talk

I {Ashley from sparkle sense} am a huge tea lover. I've loved it ever since I studied abroad my junior year in college when I would have several cups a day with my co-workers. I learned how to make a mean cuppa tea. I also learned that everyone likes it a little different & that everyone has a flavor that suits them best.

That being said, last week my mom and sister were visiting and it got me to thinking about all the different types of tea that help improve your body, mind & overall wellbeing.

We had lemongrass tea, it was wonderful and even tasted "healthy" while also tasting like lemon drop candy -- a total plus in my book.

Anyways, below I've outlined three different types of tea & their benefits to your health. There are so many more but these are just three that I've had before :)

lemongrass tea:

If suffering from anxiety or nervousness Lemongrass tea can help reduce these symptoms. It has been used in Brazil for centuries to treat digestive problems and nervous disorders. It is known to promote relaxation as the people of the Amazon are well aware of this benefit and have used it regularly as a natural sedative. Some sources suggest that lemongrass has antidepressant properties and is thus beneficial for nervous and stress-related conditions. It is said to be helpful in alleviating anxiety and depressive symptoms.

ginger tea:

Ginger can be used to curb nausea, vomiting or upset stomach due to motion sickness. Ginger tea may help strengthen your immunity due to the high levels of antioxidants in ginger. Many people drink ginger tea to help prevent cancer. Ginger tea can help relieve congestion associated with the common cold. Try a cup of ginger tea for the respiratory symptoms associated with environmental allergies.

peppermint tea:

The taste and smell of peppermint are known to help relieve stress. Drinking peppermint tea is found to help people sleep more easily at night because of these stress-relieving properties. Some believe that this stress relief that comes with sipping peppermint tea is linked to the immune system boost that this beverage provides. Some claim that peppermint tea can suppress the appetite, which is helpful for those that are trying to lose weight. Others think that giving a baby peppermint tea to sip on can help to manage colic. Still others have found that drinking peppermint tea can help reduce the discomfort that is associated with headaches or migraines.

& I'll never turn down a tea party... sweets + pretty plates + girlfriends + good conversation, sign me up!

time to bash

feminine fashions

Hello fashionista-fairytalers!

Ashley from sparkle sense here to give you a dose of friday feminine fashions. I gave my Pinterestboards a revamp last week, particularly {sparkle sense style}. All photos below are from my Pinterest board.

Lately, I've been trying to only pin outfits that I actually think I would wear. I had a bad habit in my old inspiration board {which I completely deleted} to pin things that would honestly just never look good on me.

I ask myself -- would that inspire an outfit that would actually work on me?

I'm finally in a place where I can wear what I want to wear and not worry about if it's "appropriate" or not. I used to be self conscious {since high school} because I was ALWAYS the one was dressed up. But, as I've learned, you just have to own it. If I want to wear wedges & heels everyday, I will. If I want to dress up at a football tailgate, I will. Because who's to say that's wrong?

I might always be overdressed but at least I feel my best :)

time to bash

macarons on the mind.

Happy Friday, fashionista-fairytalers!

Do you love macarons as much as I do? Well, I got our wedding photos back on Wednesday and wanted to share some of our macaron lovelies.

I am absolutely obsessed with Laduree. Our wedding logo was designed for us but inspired by Laduree's logo.

We went to France for our honeymoon so it was fitting that we had macarons as our wedding favors.

The candy bar had macaron towers as well :)

I don't think I am brave enough {yet!} to attempt making them but I got this book from my sister in law at one of my showers. Purchase here & here to start making your own beautiful macarons.

Have an awesome weekend.

Some Statement Stuff.

Happy Friday fashionista-fairytalers!

Ashley here from Sparkle Sense. I wanted to share this chair that I fell absolutely in love with while we were on our honeymoon in France. I won't be able to decorate a place until we move to the East Coast this winter but I am keeping it in my inspiration scrapbook... aka my iPhone :)

I love that this chair makes such a statement. The bold colors are absolutely gorgeous, the wood detailing exquisite & stripes are one of my very favorite things. It's heavenly.

If I'm ever lucky enough to find {or make} an imitation of this chair, some items I think would go fabulously with it are...

1. Put the love in the coconut tea towel framed seen in the Amber Interiors home tour on Style Me Pretty Living.

Amber posted that the tea towel she framed came from castle -- the love in the coconut one is sold out right now but there are some other super cute options.

2. Metallic monogrammed pillows via Chaotic Creations -- because I gotta have my monograms.

Do you have any statement furniture in your home? Anything that you have your eye on? Anything you've pinned recently? Blair & I would love to hear from you!

time to bash

color coded bookshelves

Happy Friday everyone!

Ashley here from Time to Bash :)

I came across Carolina Herrera's atelier and studio last week on Vogue's website. It's in Midtown Manhattan & is so incredibly chic yet undeniably "New York." One of my favorites things about her studio is the color coded bookshelf.

Time To Bash: Rockstuds

Happy Friday!

Ashley here from It's Time to Bash. I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. Now on to one of my favorite topics... SHOES.

The Valentino Rockstud shoes have been around for a few seasons but I hadn't truly fallen in love with them until now.

I am particularly fond of them in nude.
